Richard Allen Chase, M.D.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Richard Allen Chase is a pioneer in the creation of systems of learning materials for children from birth through primary school grades. He has worked in all media in an effort to integrate what we know about human development with efforts to design effective learning materials and environments.
Dr. Chase did his undergraduate work at the University of Chicago and Columbia University. He was awarded his Doctor of Medicine by the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed his internship in internal medicine at the Yale New Haven Hospital.
Several years of postgraduate research training at the National Institutes of Health followed, after which Dr. Chase was invited to join the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he currently serves as Adjunct Professor.
Dr. Chase's major fields of interest are human development, human learning and the design and management of learning systems. He has written extensively on these subjects and has held editorial positions on the boards of journals devoted to research communications in these fields.
Dr. Chase is an Associate of the Yale Child Study Center, a member of the Early Childhood Advisory Board of the Children's Aid Society, a member of the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Chair of its Technology Advisory Council.
